A coronavirus patient in Madison is the first in Wisconsin to receive donated plasma from a recovered COVID-19 patient.
Gary Dalgaard of Sun Prairie gave his plasma yesterday at UW Health.
Dr. William Hartman of the Plasma Project says they waiting to see what impact the antibodies from a recovered person might have. He says they don’t have an immediate reaction, but they’re trying to figure out how much time it takes to help.
UW Hospital in Madison is joining others across the country to offer the clinical trial. He says the Plasma Project started a donor hotline two weeks ago, and they’ve already received more than 250 calls.
