The Brown County clerk is calling the situation at Green Bay’s two polling places on Tuesday unacceptable.
Sandy Juno is blaming the city. She says the failure wasn’t COVID-19 related, because throughout the state, only Green Bay and Milwaukee had major problems.
Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich says they lost too many experienced poll workers, and he didn’t want to use inexperienced ones.
Juno says Wisconsin National Guard members were trained over the weekend. She called Genrich on Sunday, offering about 50 of them, and he didn’t want any.
Genrich says only opening two polling places was a “last resort.” Juno says that decision was made by the mayor and city clerk.
