Green Bay police say an officer tested positive for COVID-19.
Chief Andrew Smith says the department is devastated to hear one of its members has the virus.
Officials say the affected officer hasn’t been at work since March 29.
The officer is recovering.
Smith says the department is helping support the officer’s family.
He says the Brown County Health Department is trying to trace the virus to determine if anyone the officer came in contact with needs to be tested.
