After waiting for a flight for nearly two weeks, a couple from Oshkosh is home from Peru.
Adam and Jaime Martinez had to stay in a hotel, after the country’s president closed the borders and shut down the airport.
Adam says about 5,000 Americans were stuck in the country, and there were a lot of questions on when they could get out.
Jaime says it was a frustrating thing to go through, because other countries quickly came in and got their citizens out. She believes the response of the U.S. government has been very frustrating. She says they would try to call the U.S. Embassy for information, and the line would hang up on them.
Adam and Jaime were able to get on one of the U.S. government’s charter flights over the weekend, and they’re back in Oshkosh.
