While communities are encouraging everyone to vote absentee by mail for the April 7th election, the leader of a state group is concerned about timing.
Jerry Deschane of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities says there aren’t enough absentee ballots or envelopes in the state. He questions whether there’s enough time to send them out, and get them back.
Governor Evers says they’re working to get more ballots and envelopes to clerks around the state.
Under state law, clerks have to wait until election day to start counting absentee ballots. Deschane says that means it could take much longer than usual to get the results.
