The DNR wants to remove most of the breakwall around a popular spot in Lake Butte des Morts.
About 2,200 feet of wall will be torn out around Terrell’s Island.
Fisheries Biologist Adam Nickel says they’re going to reuse the pieces for breakwalls at other spots around the lake where there are concerns about erosion.
The DNR is holding community meetings on the plans. Tonight’s starts at 6:30 p.m. at Omro Town Hall. There’s another one at the Coughlin Center in Oshkosh at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow.
