The Oshkosh Common Council is expected to vote tonight on the plan for the new Lakeshore Park.
City Manager Mark Rohloff says the goal is to convert the former golf course into a site that everyone can use. He says the west end would be more of a passive recreation space with green space and trails. On the east end, they could build a year-round shelter facility.
The estimated cost for the park project is $13 million. The city still has about $2 million left from the sale of part of the former golf course to the Oshkosh Corporation. The company’s new global headquarters opened last month.
