The City of Oshkosh has a preferred plan for the new Lakeshore Park, but will it ever have the money to make that vision come true?
The Oshkosh Advisory Parks Board approves the plan for what is left of the former Lakeshore Golf Course, after some of it was sold to the Oshkosh Corporation for its new headquarters.
Consultant Nathan Hillmer from SmithGroup says the layout of trails, a four-season building, public lawns and a splash pad invites varied use of the property.
The SmithGroup plan comes with an estimated price tag of $10 million.
Parks Director Ray Maurer hopes to get all the work done in stages.
The Lakeshore Park plan now goes to the Oshkosh Plan Commission next month and then onto the Common Council for final approval in December.
