The dumpsters outside the now-closed Smith Elementary School in Oshkosh continue to generate controversy.
Last week, the Oshkosh School District notified former Smith parents that medical records of students at the school were thrown out, while crews were cleaning out the building.
Kim Blake-Jungwirth found the records in the dumpsters, and she says those same crews tossed thousands of dollars worth of new school supplies. She believes parents bought most of them, or they were donated.
She says she also found items that were donated for less-fortunate kids to wear in the winter.
Oshkosh Superintendent Vicki Cartwright says those items weren’t supposed to be thrown out, and she’s apologizing.
The district is facing a formal complaint about the improper disposal of the student records.
