History has been made as for the first time ever, a trio of women has the number one rock song in the country. Poppy, with Amy Lee of Evanescence and Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox have a song on Poppy’s new album called “End of You.” A song led by three women has never been number one before; this is a moment to celebrate. Beyond that, The Black Crowes return to the countdown, and we get a debut from the band From Ashes to New.
For our rock and roll conversation this week, we go to Oklahoma City, OK, to have a conversation with Dameon Aranda, one-half of the brother duo Aranda. At one point in time Aranda were poised to be the next big rock band, but life had other ideas. Now they are back (again) with new music and looking to basically start over.
Find those conversations, music videos of the songs you heard on the show, and an extended top-50 playlist below.
