Papa Roach are back with a brand-new single, and it’s one that longtime fans are going to feel right away.
The band has released “Wake Up Calling,” a powerful new track that leans into the emotional, melodic side of Papa Roach while still keeping the intensity that’s defined their sound for more than two decades. Released via New Noize Records/ADA, the song fits right alongside past fan favorites like “Scars” and “Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark),” delivering honesty, vulnerability, and punch all at once.
According to frontman Jacoby Shaddix, “Wake Up Calling” captures that critical moment where everything feels like it could fall apart, and the choice you make next matters most.
“‘Wake Up Calling’ is a song about standing on the edge of disaster — being pulled back from the brink, and ultimately choosing love over self-destruction. It’s one of the most raw, emotional songs we’ve written.”
That theme isn’t new territory for Papa Roach. The band has been openly addressing mental health and inner struggles since “Last Resort,” and “Wake Up Calling” continues that conversation with the perspective of a band that’s grown, evolved, and survived it all.
Fans first heard “Wake Up Calling” during a surprise performance at Whiskey Jam on Broadway in Nashville, where Papa Roach played the song for an intimate crowd of artists and industry insiders. The stripped-back setting gave the track room to breathe, and the response was immediate.
The song was produced by Colin Brittain, who’s worked with Linkin Park, All Time Low, and A Day To Remember, bringing a clean but emotionally charged production style to the track.
“Wake Up Calling” is set to land on Papa Roach’s upcoming 12th studio album. While there’s still no official release date, the band has already shared a few tracks from the record, including “Braindead” and “Even If It Kills Me,” both released in multiple versions that highlight different sides of the band’s sound.
“Even If It Kills Me” made a major impact at rock radio, hitting No. 1 in the U.S. and marking Papa Roach’s 13th career No. 1 single. The band later released a reimagined version of the track, offering a more melodic, stripped-back take that showcased Shaddix’s vocals in a new light.
The new single follows a huge run for Papa Roach, including the release of “Braindead,” which featured Toby Morse of H2O. The song arrived with an official music video and kept the band’s momentum rolling throughout the year.
On the road, Papa Roach wrapped up career-best touring numbers on their Rise Of The Roach tour, performing for more than one million fans and proving they’re still one of the most powerful live acts in modern rock.
Papa Roach’s commitment to mental health extends well beyond their lyrics. During their sold-out headline show at Wembley Arena, the band presented Campaign Against Living Miserably with a £20,000 donation raised during their U.K. tour, continuing their long-standing mission to use their platform for something bigger.
