Dying Wish have had a hell of a run these last few years and the new album Flesh Stays Together continues the onslaught on brutality. They’ve given us many videos for this album that have evoked so much emotion and the latest video for ‘I Don’t Belong Anywhere’ continues this trend. Check it out.
‘I persist out of spite’ is a hell of a lyric. The album is a total ripper and though there isn’t much in terms of clean singing on this track the album does feature quite a bit more than previous releases. In a conversation I had with Emma a few months ago she had this to say about that element.
‘There is a lot more singing on the record and I’m a singer first and foremost, I’ve been singing forever, screaming is newer to me and so people, I think, will automatically hear it and say “oh they’re selling out!” But that’s just the kind of music we want to make and with the different things my voice can do, all the tools that I have, I just think we’re able to do things unique to anyone else. It’s dark for sure…it’s heavier and the melodic parts are better in my opinion and I think people are going to really enjoy it.’
Dying Wish will be going out on tour in November making a stop at The Metro in Chicago on November 29th.
