OSHKOSH, Wis. — Higher-than-expected health care costs result in a projected $4.7 million budget deficit for the Oshkosh Area School District.
Expenses for the district’s self-funded employee health insurance plan were $2 million over budget, while its retiree health insurance plan ran over by $1.2 million.
School board member Molly Smiltneek says that comes as a surprise……………
The Oshkosh Area School District will have to dip into reserve funds to cover the shortfall, dropping that account below the level required by school board policy.
