If you’re like me, you’ve already forgotten the name of the person you just met before you’re done shaking their hand – but that might be a GOOD thing!
I just thought I was a dumbass for always forgetting, but as it turns out, according to psychologists, that might not be a bad thing after all!
Experts say if you struggle remembering people’s names, you just might be a “big-picture” or “highly intelligent” person! WOO-HOO!!!
Scientists believe that this might be because intelligent brains are better at discarding information that is not useful in order to focus on what really matters.
So, if you’re forgetting names, it’s not necessarily a negative trait. It could just mean that your brain is efficiently sorting information, prioritizing meaningful data over less important details like names.
See, it’s not that we’re dumb, it’s just that we’re focusing on more important stuff, which clearly isn’t your name.
There is one other theory… that you have social anxiety and find social interactions overwhelming. I’m going with the former on this one!
