Dying Wish has had a busy day after releasing a new single, video and announcing their third album Flesh Stays Together coming out September 26th. Check out the video for the latest single ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around’ that was co-directed by the bands Pedro Carrillo.
Vocalist Emma Boster described the song like this.
“The song expresses weakness and deep regret when faced with the ongoing pain on the surface of our dependency with one another. The unavoidable conflict, betrayal and abandonment that lie within the cracks of our society. An acceptance of grief.”
As you can hear there is quite a bit of clean singing, which Emma told me a few months ago would be a theme in the album, stating the bands evolution and what she wants to do as a vocalist.
‘There is a lot more singing on the record and I’m a singer first and foremost, I’ve been singing forever, screaming is newer to me and so people, I think, will automatically hear it and say “oh they’re selling out!” But that’s just the kind of music we want to make and with the different things my voice can do, all the tools that I have, I just think we’re able to do things unique to anyone else. It’s dark for sure…it’s heavier and the melodic parts are better in my opinion and I think people are going to really enjoy it.’
Along with the single out today Dying Wish also announce their third album Flesh Stays Together which will be released on September 26th. On the album Emma says this.
“Flesh Stays Together is a discovery, a journey of grief and a statement. Together we face the most unacceptable conditions in our lifetimes. Every tragedy becomes our own yet we have never been more separated. Flesh is a vicious wake up call. Slowly and painfully we approach the end we deserve.”
