It is with heartbreak that we announce that Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at the age of 76.
His family announced in a statement:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Ozzy Osbourne performed his final concert with Black Sabbath for the first time in 20 years just weeks ago on July 5th. The band performed a slew of their hits for over 40,000 people in person, and millions on a livestream. They were joined by artists including Steven Tyler, Yungblud, Tom Morello, Ronnie Wood, and Billy Corgan. Their final performance raised over 140 million pounds for charity and a concert film celebrating the legacy of Ozzy and Black Sabbath is planned for release next year.
Ozzy Osbourne is rock royalty who rose to fame as a founding member and lead singer of Black Sabbath, a band that pioneered heavy metal. In 1979, after leaving Black Sabbath, Osbourne began a long solo career releasing more than a dozen albums.
