APPLETON, WI — A jury reaches a verdict in a wrongful death lawsuit against Ascension Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton.
After just under two hours of delibrations, jurors rule that the health care facility did not commit medical malpractice in the death of Grace Schara.
Her family sued the hospital and the doctors that treated the woman with Down Syndrome during the height of the COVID pandemic.
The family alleges that Schara was given a lethal cocktail of drugs–and a “do not resuscitate” order was placed on her against the family’s wishes.
