Last week I was completely GUTTED that Rockstar made the announcement to delay the release of Grand Theft Auto VI until next year. Devastated. I mean, we’ve only been waiting 12 years so far.
However, in a shocking move, Rockstar randomly dropped Trailer #2 for GTA 6 this morning, and… WOW. This will be the greatest video game ever created.
In Trailer #2, the focus is more on the story and in-game activities, as opposed to Trailer #1, which mostly showed off the atmosphere and overall vibe. GTA 6 features two main characters, Lucia and Jason, who will seemingly have a Bonnie & Clyde-type relationship.
What a beaut! The entire environment looks so alive. I’ve only been able to watch this a handful of times so far, but what I’ve caught is stunning.
It seems like there will be filled with side-quests like fishing, robberies, MMA fighting, clubbing, working out, drinking (possibly smoking), boating and jet-skiing, racing, hunting (Everglades!!), car modding, and the typical GTA-style shenanigans.
Rockstar’s last big game was Red Dead Redemption 2, which was released in 2018. It is still a masterpiece and one of the greatest games ever created. People are still discovering new things no one has seen before 7 years later, so this game can only be a massive improvement on that.
GTA 6 has been in production for 12 years, which is insane. What’s more insane? Rockstar has spent 2 BILLION dollars to create it. For perspective, the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalif in Dubai, cost 1.5 billion. Yes, GTA 6, a video game, costs more money to make than the tallest building in the world.
If Rockstar doesn’t delay it again, GTA VI will drop May 26, 2026.
