Myles Kennedy has released the second single from his upcoming third solo album The Art of Letting Go. The track is called “Nothing More To Gain” and will appear as the 8th song on the new album.
Last month, Kennedy stopped by the Razor Studios for a Backroom Sessions performance where he played an acoustic version of the first album single “Say What You Will.”
While here, Kennedy spoke about how this album differs from his first two solo records in that it is not a concept album.
“The first two records were essentially, I don’t want to say concept records, but they kinda were. So I wanted this one to be more of a collection of songs. Just be free to jump around thematically. Plus I had a handful of ideas sitting around, that you know, there was one song that will be on the record that was written years ago. And I knew I was in a different space and I liked the song and I wanted to pull that into the equation. A lot of times, songs at least for me have always been kinda like journals. Just where I am at that point in life. So there are a few of those moments on this record but overall I feel like it’s pulling from different emotions and different periods in my life. It was fun in that sense cause I didn’t feel like I was boxed in. I could just do whatever.”
He also performed an acoustic version of the song “Devil On the Wall” which appears on his 2018 Year of the Tiger album.
