Dorothy’s latest single, “Mud,” just dropped, giving us a taste of what’s to come from her upcoming fourth studio album.
Per Loudwire, Dorothy described the new track as, “an amalgamation of hard rock, metal, and country tied together with a trap beat and spicy, heavily layered vocals. It was also my first time attempting a scream – proud of that.”
Produced by Scott Stevens, the song definitely has that mix of rock and blues that a lot of her previous music provides, but as she said, this time there’s a bit of a country undertone layered with it. It’s another example of Dorothy’s ability to experiment with sound and push boundaries with her music.
Her forthcoming album will be the first since she released Gifts From the Holy Ghost back in 2022. Since then, she’s teamed up with artists like Staind for a new version of “Better Days” and Scott Stapp on the duet “If These Walls Could Talk.” She’s also done collabs with artists like Slash, Nita Strauss, and others.
