There have been a ton of covers, a ton of collaborations, a ton of features (many including the lead singer of Ice Nine Kills Spencer Charnas) but few have included as many horns as this one. It’s summer time in Northeast Wisconsin and for some the echoes of Skappleton still skank through their brains when a certain wind blows (me, I’m that people). Yes it’s true, I love Ska music. Why do I love Ska? Well maybe it’s the fun upbeat tunes. Maybe it’s the way I was able to convince my dad that punk rock was cool because it was kind of like jazz with all the horns and stuff and he said “Oh you mean like Chicago? I love that band!” Maybe it’s just fun. Whatever the case may be, you can’t think about Ska without thinking of Reel Big Fish, the house band for the Milwaukee Beers. And we can’t overlook the kings of horror-based covers Ice Nine Kills, who have made a killing doing some of the most spinetingling covers.
This cover is one of many featured in the new comic book series ‘American Psycho’ which can be purchased here through Sumerian Records. Ice Nine Kills will be in Green Bay with In This Moment and Avatar on August 9th as part of The Kiss Of Death Tour part 2.
