Rock Fest 2024, taking place from July 18-20 in Cadott, Wisconsin, has a new feature this year: designated “mosh zones.” These zones, located at the Budweiser Boneyard Stage, came about in response to fan feedback and a desire for more audience engagement.
Per Loudwire, the festival organizers explained that the goal of these zones is to boost the energy of the crowd, while also ensuring everyone’s safety. In a statement they explained that, “in the past, we’ve held back on moshing at Rock Fest to ensure everyone’s safety, which is our top priority. We know, however, that moshing is a vital part of rockers’ release and metal experience for many of you. We’ve listened to your feedback and are excited to introduce a moshing area at the Budweiser Boneyard Stage as a pilot program.
“This allows us to embrace the energy of moshing while maintaining a safe environment for all festival-goers. We’re setting up designated zones for both moshers and non-moshers, ensuring everyone can still enjoy the show up close.
“Please note, for everyone’s safety, hardcore dancing styles or flail moshing will not be permitted. Let’s rock responsibly, keep an eye out for our brothers and sisters, and make this a memorable addition to Rock Fest 2024!“
In the past, the festival enforced a “no mosh” policy. Notably, these new zones updates come after feedback and comments made last year by one of the festival’s performers, Ronnie Radke of Falling in Reverse. Read about what Radke had to say about the festival here.
This addition isn’t the only one attendees can expect for 2024. Per Loudwire, they are also providing lockers for fans to rent, introducing mocktail options, upgrading power systems, providing more hammocks, announcing theme days, making porta-potties available for campers who arrive early, and providing more shaded areas.
The lineup this year is made up of a number of great rock bands, including Shinedown, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jelly Roll, The Hu, Parkway Drive, Beartooth, and more. Check out the entire Rock Fest lineup here.
