Beer is good. Showers are good. Beers in the shower are great! I have partaked in far too many shower beer for me to admit to at this point in my life and because of this I’ve learned a thing or two, or in this case 4. So crack open a cold one, sit back and embrace the wonders that are shower beers.(Read this sentence really dramatically, I’m trying to set the scene!)
1. Cans, not bottles.
I feel like this one makes sense without having to delve too deep into but I am required to write a certain amount of words so make sure you grab a beer in a can that’s either 11.5, 12, 16 or *if you’re real spicy* 24oz. I would recommend that there’s a spot in the shower that the can can rest so keep that in mind when decided the size of the receptical that the foamy, frothy, delicious ale or lager reside in. (see what I did there? Extra words *smile face emoji*
2. Choose a lower ABV beer.
This isn’t the time to grab that triple IPA or barrel aged imperial stout; there are no heroes in the game of shower beers, only participants. Shower beers are there to give us refreshment and to rejuvenate us not knock us on our ass! We’re just getting started! Which us to the next key…
3. Grab a beer you know you’ll finish.
What’s the point of doing something if you aren’t going to finish it. I mean that’d be like starting a paragraph and then just
4. Make sure the tunes you’ve got cranked up match the mood you’re seeking.
Last one BUT probably the most important. If you are going to enjoy the fine luxury that is a shower beer you need to fully embrace the moment. The tunes you crank up can turn the shower beer into the start of an amazing night full of jolly and camaraderie or it can send you to your basement researching the land of Middle Earth trying to figure out the best path Frodo and the rest of The Fellowship should have taken and then contemplating how nice it would have been had Gimli’s cousin been at the gates of Moria welcoming them with ale and fresh meat, unfortunately he and the rest of the dwarves had dug far too greedily and deep and thus awoke an ancient evil….look it was a long night the other day.
Cheers my friends! I hope we can have a beer together very soon!
