Of Mice & Men’s music video for their latest release, “Warpaint” has been released, and their album “Tether” will be available on October 6.
In a press release from SharpTone Records/LAND SHARK Promotion, singer and bassist Aaron Pauley shared his thoughts about the song saying, “‘Warpaint’ is about something that you struggle with, personified as a creature that hunts in the night. For me personally, it’s anxiety, but it’s not explicitly about that, lyrically, so the ‘it’ in the song can actually represent anything.”
According to Blabbermouth, Pauley also said, “We feel like it bridges the gap between the Of Mice & Men you’ve heard and known, and what’s to come. ‘Warpaint’ is a heavy and anthemic song about resilience and rallying the courage to face your fears head on.”
All of the tracks on the album were produced and engineered by the band members themselves. Pauley mixed and mastered the album, while Arteaga designed and painted the album’s artwork.
“With this one, we weren’t really focused on how it sounded as much as we focused on how it felt,” Pauley explained. “And that’s a weird thing to do when all you’re working with is sound. But that was really the goal. And we walked away from making it, feeling like we’ve accomplished that.”
“Tether” will be the band’s eighth album, and according to Blabbermouth is:
“the next step in Of Mice & Men’s evolution, combining their core sound with experimental and ethereal sound designs.”
“It’s about creating moments for people,” Pauley says. “Music is the soundtrack to people’s lives.”
