The song “Terrible Things” by Halestorm is a ballad on their 2022 album Back From The Dead. That version exists, but this version is different as it features a duet with a country singer. In the past couple of years, the line between rock and country has become more and more blurred. That line gets blurred again as hard rock band Halestorm gets together with country singer Ashley McBryde for a new version of the song “Terrible Things.”
Lzzy told Rolling Stone “She’s a rock-and-roller at heart, but she also wears that beautiful soul on her sleeve through her voice.” Why it worked for this song she said, “We could have had some kind of rock dude on there, or even one of my sisters in this genre, but it’s such a broad song that we thought, ‘Why not shake it up a little bit and have somebody that’s just a little outside of our lane?’”
Either way, we end up with two of the most powerful female voices in music on one song, and we’re all about that. Halestorm will be on tour with Volbeat this summer.
