Multi-platinum alternative rock chart-toppers Foo Fighters held a special free livestream performance yesterday, May 21st. Dubbed ‘Foo Fighters: Preparing Music For Concerts‘, that set marks the band’s first live performance since their series of tribute shows to their late drummer/vocalist Taylor Hawkins.
After a short sketch featuring drummers Chad Smith, Tommy Lee, and Danny Carey, it was revealed that veteran drummer Josh Freese is the man who will be handling the drums on the band’s upcoming tour. Known for his work with Vandals, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails and more, Freese brings a vast collection of knowledge, experience, and skills that will certainly mesh well with his new bandmates.

While Freese may be the new live drummer, it was revealed that he did not play drums on the band’s forthcoming studio album But Here We Are. It was frontman Dave Grohl, who went back to his roots and tracked the drums himself. But Here We Are will be released on Friday, June 2nd and will mark the band’s first studio album since the passing of Hawkins. The new album is available for pre-order HERE.
