STEVENS POINT, Wis–The W-I-A-A is considering realignment of Fox Valley high school football teams again. An 11-player conference alignment plan introduced this week by a sub-committee would see the teams in the current Fox Valley Association and the Fox River Classic Conference mixed into three, eight-team divisions.
The plan would also bring Appleton West and Hortonville back from the Valley Football Association, where they were grouped with teams in the Stevens Point and Wausau Area. Fox Valley Lutheran would move to the Bay from the Northeast Conference, while Two Rivers and Sheboygan Falls would join the NEC.
These changes would only affect football. Conference alignments in other sports would remain the same.

Schools affected by the changes have until January 5th to file appeals. The Realignment Task Force will vote on the plan January 12th. The full W-I-A-A Board of Control would vote on the final realignment plan in April. The new conferences would start in the fall of 2024.
