We chatted with Eva back in May for our Mental Health Awareness Month, 4 months before the Love, Dugs & Misery album came out. In that time they have been out on tour, playing some of the biggest stages in the country, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in rock and accomplishing some incredible personal goals as well.
In our chat Eva divulges what was her favorite moment of the last year. “Sharing the stage with Halestorm and singing ‘Rock Show’!” She goes off talking about the surreal experience from eating soup backstage to running to the front of house to listen to the Halestorm sound check and fan-girling out to being side stage during their show and being pulled up on stage by Joe and singing the song with the band in front of 15,000 people.
It’s been a surreal year for the band and the song writing on Love, Drugs & Misery shows a growth for the band we are very excited about. I asked Eva about the song ‘Heroin(e)’ because it embodied that unique song writing approach. It’s a song about coming to grips with having to admit you can’t save a person who is beyond help. She says the song is written for her father who passed away after a years long battle with heroin addiction. The conversation about the song is deep and heartfelt.
