Just one year after the release of their album For Those That Wish to Exist, Architects are back with another new record coming out later this year.
The U.K. metalcore veterans have just announced their upcoming album The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit, which is set for a release date of October 21st. Along with this announcement, Architects have also dropped the second single off of the new record, “tear gas”. This release comes just months after they released the first single off of the new record, “when we were young”, which still dominates active rock radio stations across the country.
Vocalist Sam Carter spoke on the musical direction of the upcoming record.
“This one feels more live, more exciting and more fun – it has that energy. We wanted it to be a lot more industrial and electronic.”
The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit is available for pre-order now. Check out the album artwork and tracklist, as well as the music video for the new single “tear gas” below!

deep fake
tear gas
spit the bone
burn down my house
living is killing us
when we were young
doomscrolling
born again pessimist
a new moral low ground
all the love in the world
be very afraid
Architects will be hitting the road later this year, beginning a North American tour in early September. The tour will stop through The Rave in Milwaukee on September 8th. In addition to Architects, Like Moths To Flames will also be on the bill.
