Nothing is more important than maintaining a healthy state of mind. However, it is certainly easier said than done.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we are shining a spotlight on the importance of mental health, as well as destroying the stigma that comes with discussing mental struggles.
Members of the band Atreyu were kind enough to share their stories with us here at Razor. Bassist Porter McKnight opened up right away talking about his daily routine.
“Every single day for me is a struggle. Every single interaction with another human, every single time I leave the house, every single time if I’m on tour I get out of the bunk to start the morning… It’s a hurdle for me.”
Guitarist Travis Miguel talked about his mindset when it comes to getting through the days.
“Over the years I’ve come to realize that not every day is going to be awesome. I’m not gonna be floating on cloud nine twenty four-seven. With that being said, the opposite is also true. Not every day is going to be bad.”
When talking about things they do to keep their minds occupied, both Travis and Porter bring up meditation, as well as other activities including video games, and being active.
These guys could not have been nicer, and we are very grateful for their willingness to be so open with us. Check out the full interview below.
