Slipknot has released the official performance video for their newest track “The Chapeltown Rag”.
“The Chapeltown Rag” is the first track from Slipknot following their 2019 critically-acclaimed album We Are Not Your Kind, and fans can expect a new album from Slipknot at some point later this year. The video was directed by Shawn “Clown” Crahan of Slipknot and showcases highlights from the group’s incredible live performances. Check out the high-energy music video below!
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor shared some big plans for his projects including Slipknot at the beginning of the year on Twitter. One of his plans is to release the seventh Slipknot album at some point in 2022. Taylor spoke on the timeline of the album’s completion and release.
“The record is actually in the process of being mixed right now. Everything is finished, so it’s just being mixed right now, which is rad news. I think it’s probably going to be another three months [before it is released]. The artwork’s done. We just came up with the title. I’m not gonna tell you it right now. But we’re really stoked. So hopefully three months from now — well, less than that — we’ll get the single out, and then three months from now we’ll get the album out.”
“It’s really killer, man. It’s darker than We Are Not Your Kind, but there’s a ton of melody. I’ve been telling everybody that it’s like a heavier version of Vol. 3. It’s got so many textures and layers. The heavy stuff has attack but the melodic stuff you can just sink your teeth in; there’s a lot of great melodies and hooks. I’m really, really excited for people to hear it.”
