I have been channeling my inner Zen to bring peace and harmony in my life. Meditating, burning incense, thinking of doing yoga, the usual stuff. One of the best ways to bring inner peace is to live on purpose, and by doing that sometimes you have to manifest what you want in this world. I wanted Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters to release a metal album so I dreamed about it. I actively thought about it and sent all my dreams and wishes in a vaguely westward direction hoping that my thoughts were intercepted by the mighty brain of Dave Grohl.
It started as a a few songs and a horror movie and then our waves fully combined when Dave announced that he will be releasing a doomy metal album as the band Dream Widow, which might be the most metal name of a band I’ve heard in years. Dave had this to say about the album which will be released around the same time as the movie Studio 666 which is due out February 25th.
“It will be the lost album, It’ll be the album they were making before [Dream Window’s vocalist] fucking killed the entire band.”
We can only speculate who Grohl has enlisted to be a part of this project but he did say it would be epic, continuing below.
“I have my favorites. You’ll hear a lot of those influences in ‘Lacrimus dei Ebrius’ [a 13-minute metal epic performed in the film] because for that song, I put maybe four or five of these sections together in this big, long thing. Some of it sounds like Trouble; some of it sounds like Corrosion of Conformity; some of it has a Kyuss vibe.”
All I can say is HELL YES! Check out the first taste below!
