Volbeat has released the lyric video for a brand new single called “Shotgun Blues.” The song will appear on the band’s forthcoming 8th studio album, Servant of the Mind, due out on December 3rd.
Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen says that he wrote the new album in just 3 months:
“I wrote the whole album in three months. I was in a good place and mood while at home and had a captive audience of myself. There are a lot of Volbeat signatures in it. If you go back to the first record and compare it to where we are now, you can hear how the band has developed its style while keeping the signature sound.”
As far as the new single is concerned, Poulsen wrote the song after being inspired by ghostly events that occurred when he moved:
“Every time you move into a house, you bring dead people with you,” Paulson says. “Weird stuff happens when I move into a [new] house… it’s very otherworldly.”
