Syble Hopp School in De Pere is closed today because of a COVID case.
The school is for students with special needs and disabilities and serves several communities in Brown County. In a letter, families were told the school would be closed because of a COVID-19 case that could potentially have an impact on every classroom. The school was notified of the positive test yesterday and officials say there wasn’t enough time to thoroughly contract trace a case of this magnitude.
School officials will contact parents if they believe a child had close contract with the person who tested positive. They will also share the plans for next week with families.
