We Came as Romans tag in the assistance of Beartooth front man Caleb Shomo on their latest single “Black Hole” set to be released on a new WCAR album. When asked what the lyrics meant, We Came As Romans lead singer Dave Stephens said this.
“The lyrics to ‘Black Hole’ are about dealing with the anxiety that you feel going through life. For me, at the time, [it was] the anxiety I was feeling in dealing with loss and the grieving process. But we wanted to leave the song open-ended enough for our fans to relate to, with anything they were going through. That anxiety is sometimes so crushing and so heavy, and you have to deal with the weight of it, the gravity of the situations you’re in. And sometimes, it just feels like an endless cycle.”
In recent interviews the band has said they want to explore the darker and bleaker elements of metalcore, a genre they helped pioneer in the early 2000’s. On their current tour they are playing their 2009 releaseĀ To Plant A SeedĀ in full. Check out the video for their latest releases below!
