Much like here in Northeast Wisconsin, Elias was also under a tornado watch today. But he took some time to talk with Decker about their upcoming show in Green Bay on September 3rd, the new album and label, and the stories behind some of their songs.
Before Decker began getting into the nuts and bolts of the new music and tour, he and Elias spoke about an interesting time when they got caught on the road in the midst of tornados touching down.
“Tornados. One passed a mile in front of us. One of our very first tours on a bus and it was crazy, our driver Jason at the time, he was very young…” he continued…
“We put him behind the wheel of a brand new XL and sure enough, half a mile down the street a tornado comes out of nowhere, and has golf-ball-size hail just pellet the side of the bus. And it looked like we literally parked it on a driving range and let the afternoon tee time have at it. It was insane.”
We still don’t have a release date on the new Ruthless EP, but we do have another song coming. In the next couple of weeks, we will finally get the fan-voted cover of Prince’s hit “When Doves Cry.”
“We have another one coming up actually in the next couple of weeks that we’re just servicing to our audience. We did a campaign last year about choosing a cover song and our fans chose Prince’s “When Doves Cry,” so that’s about to drop to our audience so that way they can get that finally.”
