It’s on with the show, Act 2, for the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton. The venue got a huge boost toward resuming operations through a $1.3-million Shuttered Venue Operators grant. Now, the P-A-C is looking to raise an additional $500-thousand to close the gap. President and CEO Maria Van Laanen says the P-A-C has scripted a campaign to attract donors by showcasing the center’s importance to the community.
Whether it’s grants from foundations and different businesses and individual supporters of arts and education programs in the community.” Van Laanen said. “Helping people understand the impact the performing art center was able to have even during the pandemic. And a successful performing arts center is a key to a vibrant downtown.”
Van Laanen also says the venue is bringing in employees back to ensure it’s next act is a hit.
“We are just coming back into the building this week.” she said. “Staff is returning. We’re planning to fully engage that furloughed staff as we start bringing back those programs to life. So, we look forward to welcoming everybody back.”
