The duo of Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach released their first Black Keys album in 2002. They followed with a few more blues influenced lo-fi rock albums before breaking through with 2010’s Brothers. After a slight return to blues influenced rock with 2019’s Let’s Rock The Black Keys have announced a covers album. This isn’t your standard run of the mill covers album though, it’s called Delta Kream and it has the band returning to their roots and putting their touch on blues standards of a by gone era.
Their lead single is a take on the 1949 John Lee Hooker song “Crawling Kingsnake.” The only way to hear the song is by registering for their fan site here. Unfortunately that is the only way to hear the song now.
The album will be out on May 14th. Pre-orders will be available beginning on April 15th.
