There will be six contested races for the Appleton City Council this April. William Siebers will face Wendy Bolm in District 1. Brad Firkus will square off against John Foss in District 3. Katie Van Zeeland will oppose Mark Gabriel in District 5. Kristin Alfheim and Shawn Park will face off in District 11. Kyle Lobner will be challenged by Sheri Hartzheim in District 13. And former city Communications Director Chad Doran is running against Walt Lontkowski in District 15. There will be no need for a primary in any of those races.
Four candidates will compete for two seats on the Appleton School Board this spring. Incumbents Kay Eggert and newly-appointed Edward Ruffalo will be joined on the ballot by challengers Sheri Hartzheim and Amber McGinley. There will be no need for a February primary in that race.
