Poll workers are expecting long hours and lengthy delays on election day.
State Elections Commission Administrator Megan Wolfe says the number of absentee ballots clerks have already received will mean much longer wait time for results. She believes accuracy remains the priority over speed.
Under Wisconsin law, absentee ballots can’t be counted until election day. Based on numbers through Monday one third of registered voters have either sent in an absentee ballot or took part in in-person early voting.
