Sevendust are set to release their 13th studio album Blood & Stone on Friday. Today, the band has released the official video for a new song called “Dying to Live.” The album release will come with a digital livestream album release concert from Orlando. You can purchase a ticket HERE or listen to the Old School Lunch from 12P-12:30P or the Loud Ride from 5P-6P all week to win an all access pass.
At the end of August, they released the title track from the album.
Back in July, Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon joined Cutter and Kaytie for a conversation about the new album, what the band was up to, and their decision to release a cover of Soundgarden’s “The Day I Tried to Live.”
“I do know that the album will be coming out within this year. We’re going to make sure that that happens. I think I’m able to say that. With that being said, how ironic is it that we had this album and we thought it was going to be out by now or around now? And we did a cover, ‘The Day I Tried to Live’ and that was probably one of the hardest things for me grasp my head around. Um, having to get ready, which I love every Chris Cornell song, every Soundgarden song, and I would love to do it all. I thought about it when they said ‘hey we’re gonna do that.’ and I said ‘well who’s gonna sing it? (chuckles) I’m not gonna be the one right?’ And uh, so I just had to put all my heart and soul and energy, like I do with anything, and I thought it turned out beautiful. But who would have ever thought that it would have been the first thing we release from this album? But in these times, that song, for whatever reason, seemed to be so fitting to what’s going on. And uh, we just thought it would be a good move for us to get something out there from Sevendust in these crazy times and that song, I think was a good move and I hope that people enjoy it.”
