The City of Oshkosh is using old-fashioned research to get the capacities of businesses impacted by the statewide 25 percent limit.
City Manager Mark Rohloff says they didn’t have a list at City Hall, but under state law, businesses have to post the maximum capacity in the building. He says that’s why they sent some city staff out to bars and restaurants, to check their signs. That way, he says they’ll know what the limit should be, if a complaint comes in.
Rohloff says they’ll enforce the limit, if they get a complaint. He says business owners would receive information on the requirements, instead of facing a fine for a first offense.
