Two inmates at the state’s prison in Waupun died from COVID-19.
The Dodge County Medical Examiner is confirming they passed away in September. The Department of Corrections says it doesn’t release information on prisoner deaths, because of privacy laws.
One of the men was 63, and he was overweight. He also had diabetes and high blood pressure. He died on September 12th.
A 62-year-old inmate died on September 15th. He had previously been diagnosed with lung cancer.
The Winnebago County Coroner hasn’t commented on whether there have been any coronavirus deaths at the Oshkosh prison.
