ThedaCare’s president says they were scrambling Tuesday morning, because all of their beds, at all of their hospitals, were full.
Dr. Imran Andrabi says staff had been working around the clock, and juggled things around to create some additional space. He says if this isn’t a crisis, he doesn’t know what a crisis looks like.
He says they’re handling the situation hour-by-hour, and day-by-day. They’re talking with health care systems in the Milwaukee area about any available beds, in case they need help before the state’s alternate care facility opens next week.
Andrabi is stressing people having serious health problems need to go to a hospital.
