The People’s Map Commission met virtually for the first time yesterday.
Governor Evers created the group through an executive order to redraw legislative and congressional district lines. This is done every ten years using data collected in the U. S. Census.
Nine people with different backgrounds make up the commission.
The commission will hold one public hearing a month before bringing a suggestion to the Legislature to consider in 2021.
