The president of Prevea Health is concerned about the impact the spike in coronavirus patients is having on other parts of the hospital.
Dr. Ashok Rai tells Action 2 News they have to make sure they can treat crash victims, and people having heart attacks, strokes, and other health problems. He says some hospitals in the region need help right now, and are transferring patients to other facilities.
Rai expects death totals will keep climbing around the state. He says throughout the pandemic, that’s what has happened in places where cases jumped and hospitalizations did too.
