Popularity is growing for a program that provides rides to work for people, if public transportation isn’t available in their area.
The Winnebago Catch-A-Ride is in its second year.
The Greater Oshkosh Economic Development Corporation runs it, and it’s provided about 2,000 rides so far this year. That’s up from 600 last year.
The group’s Tricia Rathermel says while their numbers slipped a little during the “safer at home” order, they quickly bounced back after.
The program is looking for volunteer drivers. Rathermel says they can set their own schedule, and they’re reimbursed for their mileage.
