The head of Prevea Health is concerned they won’t be able to bring the outbreak of COVID-19 in the Fox Valley region under control.
Dr. Ashok Rai tells Action 2 News unlike the initial spikes in the spring, the community isn’t acting responsibly. He calls the surge a “nightmare scenario.”
Rai says even though they’re testing twice as many people per day, compared to the spring, they don’t have human behavior on their side. He says they don’t have the ability to urge people to stay safe, and help the hospital workers, because that hasn’t been working right now.
Rai says in the spring, they knew where the outbreaks were, including with meat plants, so they could target testing, and isolate people. He says they can’t test their way out of the current situation, and they need people to help by taking steps to prevent the spread.
