A fire that damaged a house in Appleton over the weekend may be a case of arson, and a hate crime.
Crews were called to a home along E. South Street around midnight Saturday night, after a neighbor saw the fire. He was able to put out the flames with a garden hose.
Appleton police say they found graffiti at the scene, and that’s why they believe the fire was set intentionally and it was a hate crime.
No other details have been released yet.
