A new documentary called Bay Area Godfathers will be released on Tuesday, October 6th and it will focus on the golden era of heavy metal from the late ’70s into the early ’90s. The film will have in-depth interviews with Bay Area metal icons and pivotal players like the musicians, managers, journalists, and label execs. Metallica, Megadeth, Exodus, and more will be featured in the upcoming documentary with interviews from Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Dave Meniketti of Y&T, Steve “Zetro” Souza and Tom Hunting from Exodus, Megadeth’s David Ellefson, Dave Lombardo from Slayer/Suicidal Tendencies and Eric Peterson of Testament.
The movie is part of the Inside Metal series and was directed by Bob Nalbandian and produced by Warren Croyle. Bay Area Godfathers will be a two-part film (the second part will be released later) and is the fourth movie in the Inside Metal series. The first three titles, Pioneers Of L.A. Hard Rock & Metal, L.A. Metal Scene Explodes, and The Rise Of L.A. Thrash Metal all received positive reviews worldwide.
